NEAPOLITAN PIZZA
The original Italian style pizza
- This traditional pizza from Naples is the most ‘authentic’ style of pizza out there. Simple to make and with just four ingredients, you’ll be cooking like a pizzaiolo in no time! 60 seconds to cook in your Roccbox – this is a game changer!
NEW YORK PIZZA
A classic style, loved around the world
- Cooked at a slightly lower temperature than its Neapolitan cousin, New York pizza is just as steeped in history and just as tasty! A blend of flours, the addition of oil, and a longer bake result in a crispier finished pizza that is still so deliciously chewy and packed with flavor.
SOURDOUGH PIZZA
Good for the gut and incredibly tasty
- You are seriously missing out if you’ve not tried making a sourdough pizza before – chewy, soft, a little tangy – there’s nothing else like it. The ingredients are basically the same as ‘normal’ pizza dough but the results will be very different!
DETROIT PIZZA
Deep dish, indulgent pizza
- Detroit pizza is in a league of its own. Cheesy, charred and chewy, there’s nothing like it. The cheese flow down the sides gives the most incredibly delicious crust for this rectangular pizza which is fast taking the world by storm!
- It’s important to get the cheese right to the edges of the pan as the fat will flow down the sides of the dough and give you the most incredibly dark crust around the outside. And if you can source an authentic blue steel pan, do – it makes all the difference…
BONE-IN RIBEYE STEAK
Take your steak to the next level with Gozney Roccbox
- Take your steak to the next level with Gozney Roccbox Charring meat in Roccbox is great fun and incredibly tasty. The high temperatures and dry heat, means you can create an incredible ‘bark’ on the steak whilst retaining an amazing pink centre. Don’t be shy with the salt and pepper on your steak – it will seem a lot but this is what’s going to make the crust so good…
SPICY BUFFALO WINGS
Crispy yet succulent, these wings are the real deal
- Buffalo Wings are normally deep fried, but here, we’ve dried the wings out to give us that crispy deep fried style skin, but because we’re cooking quickly at high temperatures in Roccbox, the meat will remain incredibly moist inside. Truly delicious…
What’s in the box?
Included in your purchase is your Gozney Roccbox, a professional grade pizza peel (worth 85USD), a detachable gas burner, a bottle opener and a user manual.
Which fuel does the Roccbox use?
The Roccbox uses Propane or Butane gas. It’s fitted with a Propane regulator as standard but can be changed. It can’t use natural gas. There is a wood-burner attachment (sold separately) which lets you cook using wood, charcoal or briquettes.
How heavy is the Roccbox?
Roccbox weighs 20kg. Thick stone floors, solid steel frames and dense insulation isn’t light and that’s what makes the Roccbox such a solid, reliable piece of kit. Regardless, it’s still very portable with the cover carry strap and retractable legs!
How long does the Roccbox take to heat up?
Your Roccbox should be up to temperature in 20-30 mins using gas. There are a number of factors affecting this, such as: ambient temperature and weather conditions so it does vary. Once up to temperature, you can cook a pizza in just 60 seconds!
What can I cook in Roccbox?
Roccbox allows you to: Cook authentic Neapolitan pizza in 60 seconds. Beautifully char steaks and vegetables in the oven’s intense dry heat. Produce mouth-watering crackling/crispy skin, by rendering down the fat from joints of meat/fish.

We really love it so far!
We have always taken pride in our home made pizzas. But our kitchen oven just doesn’t quite get us the amazing crust quality that you get with pizza that’s fired in a commercial pizza oven, even with a stone. This little oven comes very close to getting it right. There is a learning curve for sure, especially with managing to turn the pizza after about 30 seconds so that the pizza bakes evenly all the way around. We’ve only had the Roccbox a week, but have so far made some pretty excellent pizzas, flatbreads, several awesome steaks and shrimp scampi. Looking forward to playing around with it more, and trying out other ideas. It’s a tad pricey, but seems well worth the cost. Besides, it’s darn cute!

It is much cheaper and easier to go out to eat pizza
Ok, first keep in mind this thing is very heavy due to the stone. As far as the the quality it is there it is very well made. Hook up and set up was great. It heated very well. It is pretty small so a lot of fiddling around to turn a pizza. Then the pizza sticks to the stone corn meal works to help fix that. The trouble is once you pull one little pie out the residue on the stone catches fire and turns it into an inferno. All in all IMO the expensive gas oven ingredients and time it takes for me isn’t worth the uneventful pizza. I wish I could return this boat anchor for a full refund. I can just go out order a pizza no fuss no mess just pizza. Give it some thought before you buy one of these.

Amazing little oven!
We have a big, wood fired, brick pizza oven…but that can’t come with us when we go elsewhere and takes 5 hours to get ready. This may not be exactly equivalent, but it makes great pizzas, heats up in half an hour and is light and small enough to come with us when we entertain away from our home. We love it!

Love it
Easy to set up right out of the box. My first pizzas came out amazing. The size is perfect personal pizza size. I was worried that the pizzas would be too small. But I have made 8, 10, and 12 inch pizzas. I have since used it 4 times and I love the consistency it delivers. The oven itself gets extremely hot inside and the outside remains slightly warm to the touch. I use it in my back yard and I don’t have to worry about my pets getting too close to it or burned. One thing to note is that after the first couple of uses, the outside does get dark but I knew that before I purchased and that doesn’t really bother me. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend the Roccbox to anyone looking to step up their pizza game.

Excellent pizza oven!
This oven is very easy to use! I have not burned a single pizza. I did have to contact customer service to verify that I would receive the promotional items and I had to wait several days to hear from them. They have said that I will receive a shipping notification when it ships which was 4 days ago. If I receive the items I will not need to update this review.

The one to buy!
Tried a pellet pizza oven made by the other top manufacturer but bailed on it quickly. This is the one, very easy to use, cooks pizza very fast. Clean up is as simple as throw the cover on and you’re done. Love the taller legs, keeps the heat off the deck. The sides are cool to the touch at 900 degrees! Very happy with this brand. Suggest a small turning peel, along with the one supplied to complete the experience. Awesome awesome pizza oven!

Love this pizza oven
We bought two of these after considering the Ooni Pro pizza oven. We are making pizza in quantity and the other reviews said this one stays hot throughout an extended period without any lag time between pizzas. That’s exactly what we needed. We highly recommend this. It took a few tries to master the art of a round pizza and to dial in the perfect temperature but now my husband has it down to a science and the pizza is incredible! We’ve made our own dough and we’ve bought frozen (I’d say I am the only one who knows the difference). Our customers love our pizza and we get so many compliments. My husband absolutely LOVES cooking in this oven.

Very easy to use. Fire it up, wait a few, and start cooking.
This thing is great. We purchased a couple of weeks ago and have used it more than we expected. There is a small learning curve though. My first attempt, the pizza dough stuck to the peel and then the toppings rolled off into the oven. Complete user error on my part. Since then I make sure my pizza dough and peel have some flour on the outside so it slides right off. (The picture with this review was my 5th pizza made)The pizza dough recipes on the website are fantastic. They taste as good as the gourmet pizza places. It isn’t just for pizza. Steaks were amazing at 900 degrees. Fresh peaches caramelized in no time. The propane is so easy to use I haven’t used the wood burning attachment.Cons- None… although a pizza peel turner and cover included in the price would have been nice.Pros- Easy to use. Great for parties. It gets easier the more you use it. Minimal cleaning. Versatile. Efficient.I would buy it again.

Love this pizza oven!
Purchased this in March (pre-lockdowns!) and we’ve used it at least twice a month since then. On our initial use we had a total face palm moment of wondering why it didn’t get above 500 degrees – then realized the temp indicator is in C not F. Not only do we use it for pizzas, but also for making pita bread and amazing steaks (watch the YouTube videos!). It travels well, though one needs to make sure there’s a propane cylinder available for use wherever you’re going as hauling a propane cylinder is ridiculous. Getting a pizza turner would be wise – we’re making do with the metal peel and two extra long spatulas. Only sadness is that the stone floor has recently cracked. Gozney support has been very responsive and we’re working on a warranty repair/return.

The Roccbox makes better pizzas than my gas oven with a pizza stone
I bought this for its portability. I can put it in my boot along with the propane tank, a table, and pizza prep equipment… along with my ski gear or whatever gear I need for the activity of the day. When you’re done, fire up the Roccbox, crack a beer and start your tailgate. Even in 30F and snow, the Roccbox got up to nearly 900F in 45 minutes. I used pre-rolled pizza crusts from Whole Foods. They were sized perfectly for the width making it super easy. However, the pizza used 2x the dough that I use at home. Consequently, the outer edges started to burn before the dough under the toppings was complete. I let the oven cool to about 700F and then finished cooking the pizza. What I am learning is that the temp you need depends on the thickness of your dough. The picture I shared uses dough I made. It’s thin. That pizza cooked perfectly in 60 seconds. Get the peel. 65 bucks seems like a lot, but when you’re dealing with seconds between perfection and burnt, every tool counts. A final note on portability. The legs do not get hot. The sides of the Roccbox can get hot depending on the ambient temp. I let it cool to about 500F and then felt comfortable packing it safely in my car to drive home.Lastly, I picked up a cheap cast iron skillet. I used a sous-vide to get some thick steaks to 120F. Then seared them for a few seconds a side in the Roccbox. The sear was so perfect. Next time, I’ll set the sous-vide to 115F.Suffice it to say, what I thought would just be a portable pizza oven has become a key part of our home cooking quiver. We used to use a pizza stone in our gas oven a 550F. Pizzas cooked in 7 minutes. The Roccbox is just that much better.

First night out
Just received it and had to make something. Worked late but stopped off and bought some Pre made dough. Made it into some garlic cheesy bread. It took 30 minutes to heat up and the internal temp was only at 600 but still higher than my oven.Tried to use my covid laser thermometer to test the inside of the oven and stone but it only said temp was high.Immediately ordered a new thermometer that goes over 1000 degrees for the next time.Made the dough a little to thick and the top started to burn before the dough cooked. I watched someone else who made a video lower the temp right as they put it in so guess that was so the dough had a longer time on the stone before the top for to crisp.Next time I will thin the dough or try to lower it when I put it in.I love the thick Velcro strap that covers the whole unit. It has a handle on it and can easily carry the unit if you need to move it before it completely cools.I see some fun summer nights coming trying to perfect a pizza. It was a little more expensive than some of the others but if it ends up lasting a few year living on the coast it will be worth it. Everything rusts over here.

Great possibilities, terrible customer service
Firstly, the oven that arrived was not the cheery green shown online; it is a nasty dull-Army green. That was a bummer and I thought about sending it back, but had alr3eady planned pizza parties and figured the pizza was more important than the oven exterior.I used the oven three times with great success–beautifully crisp bubbly crusts, truly a delight to serve and eat. Then we tried taking it camping, as shown in all the marketing videos. We never ended up taking it out of the car due to the weather, but after we got home it wouldn’t get above about 400 degrees and made terrible, embarrassingly soggy pizzas. I contacted Gozney customer support. on 8/23 We’ve been back and forth with email messages. It took 9 days to hear back the first time. They requested, and I sent, photos and the serial number. It took 8 days to get another response, in which they requested a video, which I sent. Eight days later they asked for my order number (which I swear I already submitted with my first request) and what type of fuel I am using. (I bought a propane oven and, obviously, am using propane.) I sent that information today. I truly hope to hear back again before winter but at that point I’ll just be storing the oven until spring. I’ve lost the best part of the pizza-making year as well as a lot of dough and toppings from my fridge. I’m not a happy camper.

An amazing product. You will not be disappointed!
We started making pizzas at home because we wanted to control the ingredients. We’ve been cooking in the oven, but the crust was not like a restaurant pizza. Just one pizza in and I can say this oven has transformed our pizza game. I only wish I found this year’s ago! Perfect pizza in minutes.

This oven roccs
Gozney knows there way around pizza ovens and the Roccbox rocks. I was turned on to this pizza oven by a veteran pizza blogger. I’m still learning about pizza dough but the Roccbox was easy to master and a joy to use.

Amazing!
I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to tell everyone how much I love this oven. It is convenient, super easy to use and set up, and it cooks pizza to PERFECTION. I am in love and will be using this all the time. I recommend buying a gozney pizza peel as well! It makes it easy to turn the pizza while it’s still in the oven! 10/10 recommend!

A lot of FUN and great Pizza
Really easy setup and easy to move around. I got the cover/case along with some of the other accessories. It was a little challenging to figure out the Pizza Dough, we are Gluten Free, but once we did, we’ve been cranking out amazing Pizzas. We found the Gluten Free Caputo flour to be the best for GF pizza.Everyone has fun dressing their own pizza and they cook in just 1-2 min.Highly recommend this one!

Don’t wait…buy it now!
This pizza oven brings me so much happiness! I sat on pondering buying it for a year and finally went for it…I’m so mad at myself for waiting. I LOVE THIS THING! It is amazing. It is very important to pre-heat (I pre-Heat on medium low) for ~15-20 minutes before cooking your first pizza. Be sure to pay close attention, as it cooks fast (mine are done in ~4 minutes) and you constantly want to turn the pizza to ensure even cooking.Buy it!!!

Spectacular pizza in a minute!
Arrived quickly, nicely packaged. The Roccbox reaches the advertised temperature and easily produces Neapolitan style pizzas, one after the other. I’ve used it three times in the last week and a half. Some reviews I’ve read mention “the learning curve” but if you’ve made decent homemade pizza in the past, this oven is a no-brainer. What learning curve?! Take it out of the box (fully assembled), hook it up to your gas tank, preheat and slide your pizza in. Don’t go anywhere. Begin rotating the pie, continue until the crust is puffed and browned. Then pull out a piping hot masterpiece! It takes a minute or so. And so good. I took the leftovers to work twice and now my co-workers are clamoring for their own pizzas. I guess a pizza-making party is up next.Update: We cannot keep our hands off of this pizza oven! I’m making way too many pizzas, but I can’t help it. One taste and I’m back in Naples. We’re devouring incredible pizzas on a weekly basis now. Just had family over 3 or 4 weeks ago and had a pizza-making party. 10 pizzas. 10! Glorious! Pizzas!!! Guess what’s for dinner tomorrow?! Do not miss out on this incredible oven. For Christmas, I’m asking for the wood burner attachment, but it’s really hard to believe it will be any better than what we’re enjoying presently. A couple of notes: invest in a pizza turning peel. Not an expensive one. Amazon sells them on the cheap. Also, it might be a good idea to turn the heat down before launching the pizza – to give yourself a bit more leisure in the turning process. However – once you are accustomed to the speed of this oven, there is no need to turn it down. Just stay alert. Lastly, get the fitted cover. You will quickly tire of taking it out; putting it away; taking it out; putting . . . . well, you get it.

Best pizza oven by far
I wanted to wait and review this until I used this many times. I bought this 5 months ago and would say I used it about 3 times a month. Things that I’ve learned:20 minutes on high setting to get the stone about 700F/370C. That is all you need to start baking your pies. I recommend to buy a digital infrared thermometer. Make sure to lower the setting close to shutting it off before you insert your pie and watch it. They will bake very fast. Wait a bit on the initial time before turning. I use the pizza peel that came with this purchase. You really do not need to buy a pizza peel for turning the pizza. I bought one and dropped a pizza on the way to the counter. So, I basically pull out the pizza with the peel and turn it with my hand quickly and re-insert. Just ten seconds per turn will do it. The cleanup is rather tricky. There is build up of soot in the inside and outside. This is normal but try and wear gloves when inserting your hand. If soot gets on your skin – it will smear like an oil slick. Soap takes care of your hand but do not use in the inside of the oven. I take a brush to bring out the remaining burnt flour and apply a mixture of baking soda with water to remove the soot and dark stains. You can scrape burned on cheese with a spatula. Take a look inside and if you see a spot where there is soot about to fall, just get a damp paper towel and remove it carefully. You do not need to clean off all the soot cause it will happen every time you bake. So goes with most other pizza oven. All in all I love this oven and will continue to use it. You just get the best darn pizza out of it. Hope I helped.

Good for more than just pizza
Update: My stone cracked for some reason after about 4 months, but they sent me a whole replacement oven.Makes good pizza, also makes good tandoori chicken. Definitely has a learning curve. Minimize your toppings till you get the hang of it. Expect your first few to burn, or stick. Once you make a mess on the stone a few times, it seems to get seasoned and stick less, but rubbing some cornmeal into the dough helps a lot. The thinner the better for your dough. You definitely need the turning peel and a wire brush. I bolted mine to a rolling cart, whoever calls this thing portable must be the hulk.

Good oven.
We like the oven but it takes about 30 minutes on high to get hot enough to get good results. I just wish I had know that. I would have gotten one with a door.

Works but need better information for use
Ok folks. Before starting plan ahead. The pizza does cook very quickly and stick to the pallet that was provided. The stove itself takes about 20 minutes to warm up. So I have no problems with the stove. BIG suggestions1. Make sure the pizza dough is very dry.2. Use corn meal on the base of the pizza before sticking in the oven.3. Once up to temperature (nice thermometer on the side) turn down to the lowest temperature4. Buy a 8 inch pizza peel. Lots to choose from on amazon. This really helps with twisting the pizza once while in the oven. The pallet provided doesn’t work well5. Buy the additional attachment for the flame guard, cover and door options. Check on Etsy for prices as some may be cheaper

THE BEST PIZZA OVEN I HAVE EVER OWNED
I have always been a Pizza maker, from age 18, at college in Georgia, I could not find real NY pizza. So I learned to make my own dough, built a small outdoor brick oven – and made pizza every Saturday for 5 years. Then I invented the pizza pan with the holes.. I graduated to the cuisinart pizza oven, which did not really work any better than my home oven, Then the ooni pro 16. then I was given the Roccbox as a gift. OK, this is it – I have found a real Pizza oven. It can get to 935 degrees, but that burned my first Pizza. 840 degrees is perfect, and a pizza takes 60-90 minutes, depending on how much toppings are on it. I also ordered 50 pounds of Caputo “00” flour. The ooni pro 16 is great too, but the Roccbox is the real deal.. very well built and heavy…this is a profession oven. BTW: heats to 900 degrees in 15 minutes. But let it go for 30 minutes to get the stone interior to 840 -850 degrees..

Love it
Naturally my wife was very skeptical when I got it, but let me tell you it’s definitely worth it and I was able to win her over quickly. Takes a little bit of time to get to temp, but as soon as it’s ready it’s 60sec and you have a fantastic pizza, restaurant quality. The crust is perfect and taste is most excellent. Even the kids enjoy making their own pizzas.

EXCELLENT PIZZA OVEN!
I love this pizza oven. We got it for a family member as a gift and it has now become part of our weekly routine. It took some time to figure out and get used to (don’t get too frustrated if the first few don’t come out as you would think!). Its all about getting the oven INCREDIBLY hot and then maybe turning down the flame while you put in the pizza. We’ve also had some success with cooking the dough for a bit before adding sauce and toppings (The type of dough you buy matters too so be sure to try multiple kinds). It is heavy and comes with a carrying strap but I don’t think we’ll ever take it to the park like it says you can. Its an excellent gift and allows for every person to make their own pizza and then cook it. Its great for parties or family get togethers! We feel like we are part of the marketing team as we have convinced 4-5 people to buy their own now!

The best in this price range
A really great quality oven. I previously had the Blackstone and also the Ooni Fyra ovens. The Blackstone drank too much propane and would always burn the basil. The Ooni was a complete PITA with the wood pellets always needing to manage them and getting varying temperatures on the stone. Remember this: wood doesn’t make a difference in taste when making pizzas this quickly. So skip any of the small wood ovens as well as the wood burner for the Roccbox. Just go with this oven with the gas burner. This oven is super heavy compared to the Ooni and uses much nicer materials.

Nice pizza oven overall. A major negative is the easily collapsing feet.
Solidly built. Instructions on baking in it very bare-bones. It took several attempts to get it just right. Major negatives are the feet. They are foldable for easy storage, but they do not lock in place when open. The oven is heavy, and unless you place it perfectly square on whatever surface you are using, the feet will collapse very easily, requiring that you lift the oven with one hand and try to straighten the feet with the other.

Love the Roccbox
According to my son (6 years old), I can now make a better pizza than his favorite pizza joint. It took some trial and error, but after figuring out a formula that works for us, we are in love with the Roccbox. I heat it to 600, turn it off, and insert the pizza. Wait 1 min or so for the crust to rise, turn pizza 180 degrees, continue to cook with no flame for about another minute. Now fire up the box on the lowest setting rotating the pizza a quarter turn about every 15 seconds until the crust is brown. Enjoy!!

Industrial strength pizza maker
The product is good looking and setup is minimal. We were making pizzas that night. There is some learning curve to making a pizza in 90 seconds to crisp up the bottom without burning the topics. It’s part of the fun in learning to make a great pizza. Once you own this, you’ll find yourself getting more creative in how you make your pizzas. So much fun and the Roccbox is fantastic!

Consistent results, GREAT product!
Hands down, the best portable pizza oven I’ve come across. I’m used to big wood fired ovens and I also had a small gas oven. That only got to 700° though which isn’t enough to make a Neapolitan style pizza. This oven is a game changer: 900°+ within 30 minutes. Your pizza will cook within 60 seconds. Turn the pizza after about 30 seconds and keep an eye on it so as not to burn. Takes about 90 minutes to cool after use for safe transport.I always liked the ease of using gas (faster and more consistent heating, no ash) but appreciate the flexibility to use wood. I have not used the wood burner yet. I’m a bit puzzled for those saying it doesn’t get to temperature. Try changing the position of the oven so wind doesn’t blow at the front of the oven. That can throw off the temp of any oven. The oven held temp with a steady wind at the back of the oven today. Just point the back of the oven into the wind.

Nice but get ready for a learning curve!
This was a gift of sorts and man it’s hard to figure out how to do the pizza without burning a portion of it. It’s been a couple months and we’ve finally figured it out.

Highly Recommend!!!
This pizza oven is awesome! I can’t do anything but rave about it. We’ve used ours several times now and it’s never failed to produce a delicious pizza. I’ve made about 20 pizzas using it so far and it’s always gotten up to temp like it says. I like cooking our pizzas at about 700 to 800 degrees. I find that’s the sweet spot for my cooking style. They don’t burn but cook very quickly. You must watch them constantly. Also put plenty of fine cornmeal on the surface where you are preparing your pizza. This ensures no sticking to the pizza peel and oven. I’ve used just a basic pizza dough recipe, nothing fancy like others stated and it’s turned out great. I highly recommend this pizza oven, I have zero complaints after using it for several pizzas. My first pizza to my last pizza have all come out great with no issues. The only thing I can’t stress enough is to use plenty of fine cornmeal to eliminate any sticking. Highly recommend!! Go buy it!!

This thing is appropriately named because it ROCCS!! Made 2 pizzas in 6 minutes total, and used my cast iron skillet to make some maple/honey hot wings. They took about 15 minutes.Unbelievably easy to use and the food is amazing!!HIGHLY recommend!!

Great, Fast, Fun

We love pizza. The Gozney allows us to make our own restaurant grade pizzas in under 2 minutes. Gets to a high temp if 900 degrees in about 20 minutes. Uses very little propane. Tons of on line assistance in pizza prep/cooking tips/recipes. People are amazed watching their pizza cook in about 90 seconds. We also cook wings in the oven using a cast iron skillet and they are delicious. There definitely is a learning curve when it comes to getting your pizza from the pizza peel into the oven. Don’t skimp on the flour and make sure your peel is dry. Bon appetit.

Works OK if overhyped
Nice product and has a steep learning curve. I’m still learning after 7 or 8 tries.Highly recommend getting a small turning peel and learning to make good dough. And learning how to move very fast. Also, make multiple pizzas so you’re not heating up the oven for just a single or even a couple of small pizzas. The hardest part is getting the pizza off the peel and into the oven without throwing toppings everywhere. LOTS of flour and getting the dough moving a lot before putting the toppings on is essential. Also, make the dough pretty thin or you’ll wind up with a doughy pizza.I’ve yet to see the 950*F plus advertised stone temperature even after a very long warm up. Even on 95*F days. And that’s checking with an infrared thermometer. Still, it works. The pizzas come off very fast and taste just like you would expect and hope. The temperature makes for a quick turn around but be prepared to wait 10 minutes to reheat the stone. And be careful that you don’t leave it too long in one spot near the flame or it will catch fire.Overall, I’d expect this to be around a $250-$300 product, maybe less. I paid $400 on Prime Day and feel a little less than impressed overall. No door, only a single peel as standard, and essentially no support. No way I’d pay more.

The best pizza oven – and customer service
Did a lot of research and comparisons between the Ooni and Roccbox pizza ovens. Ended up choosing the Roccbox and am glad I did! It cooks an awesome pizza and fast. I like the option to add a wood burner, but probably won’t exercise that option. With propane, I can get my oven up to over 900 degrees (on the stone using an infrared thermometer) and is easier to regulate the temperature versus wood. The pizza is not in the oven long enough to pick up much flavor from the propane or wood.Did have one issue…the propane burner flame was hitting the right side of the oven instead of straight up. Contacted Gozney customer service and sent them a picture of the flame. They promptly sent me a new burner, and this one shoots the flame straight up as it should. So I am keeping the five-star rating. And did I say it bakes great pizza…yes it does! Be sure to use 00 flour made for pizzerias for best results. Also recommend you get the Roccbox turning peel – makes it easy to turn the pizza without taking it out of the oven (and potentially burning yourself). You can see it hanging in the photo on the right side.I was concerned that the oven leg bottoms might scratch the stainless steel cart top that I have the oven on. I cut up some non-slip furniture pads and stuck them on the legs. Oven is heavy enough that it shouldn’t move around much anyway, but the pads help hold it in place when moving the cart. If you are wondering where I got the cart, look for this on Amazon – “Royal Gourmet Double-Shelf Movable Dining Cart”.Another plus is that the silicone cover doesn’t get much hotter than just over 200 degrees (checked with my thermometer). While that is hot to the touch, less risk of getting severely burned by brushing up against it.There is a learning curve to cooking a pizza at these temps. I had a couple of disasters where parts of my pizza got left in the oven. Just turn the burner up on high after you are done cooking, and the oven will self-clean by incinerating any food left in it. Once it cools, just use a grill brush to loosen what’s left of the charred remains and then it can be just vacuumed out.The front of it will get sooty even with propane. Bar Keeper’s Friend cleans it right up. The photo shows how well it cleaned up after cooking a few pizzas.UPDATE OCT 2021: Had it over a year now and have baked a ton of pizzas in it. Sure, I’ve had a few pizza disasters, but it was operator error and not the oven’s fault. It is working great and I am still glad I bought it.

Easy assembly but Important to follow directions
It’ll take some trial and error to get everything right. The first few pizzas you make will be burnt on the edges but still raw inside. Follow the directions to the letter if you want to be successful with the oven. My suggestion yo make pizzas more like a flat bread and less round. Oval shape seems to be the right way to go since the oven burns lot hotter in the back than in front; also, rotate the pizza often to achieve the best results.

Excellent little pizza oven once you get the hang of it
The first time we tried it, I made smaller, personal size pizzas as I knew there might be some trial and error .First pizza we forgot to oil or flour the Peel and could not get the pizza unstuck from it, that first one went in the trash.I put a little olive oil and a little flour on the peel, and a light bit a flower on the actual stone… This eliminated all the problems with sticking and made it a lot easier to move the pizza in and out and rotate it with a little flick of the wrist ( Takes a lil practice )Made a couple more successful personal size pizza but to me the dough did not cook enough by the time the toppings were done… I initially let the oven warm-up for 20 minutes, so the stone was definitely hotWhat I finally perfected was to put the dough by itself for 30 to 40 seconds rotating constantly, take it back out, then load up the pizza with all your toppings…After the first session, I feel like a professional. The back of the oven is the very hardest part, so you basically watch the back of the pizza, once the dough rises, rotate it to another part of the pizza keep rotating it until the dough looks cooked and you have not burned the toppings and there’s your excellent pizza.Heavier layers of toppings, you need to turn the fire up a little bit but I found my sweet spot was around 500°… I love this little oven!!!

Practice makes perfect. Quality pizza at home.
Definitely reaches the temps necessary to make a great pizza. I use it nearly every weekend.A con would be the size. There’s just not much room in there. I had a piece of pepperoni fall off and catch flame, but the oven is too small to move the pizza away from it, so it caught the crust on fire. It’s also a difficult to rotate a pizza in the oven; I pull it out to do so. Possibly could fix that with the purchase of a smaller peel just for rotating, but I’m not ready to invest beyond the $500 oven at this point. The only genuine negative I found is that if it is breezy, the oven can have its flame blow out more easily than expected. This happened to me when I was inside preparing a pizza. When I came out, there was a propane cloud and a cold oven. I waited for the cloud to dissipate before attempting to relight. It might be nice if there were a door or a cover that could be put over the opening. Not only would it prevent the flame blowing out, it would help it heat up faster as well, I imagine.

Oven is Superb you too can be a Pizza Master
I have purchased a few lower priced pizza ovens, i should have just stepped up and purchased the ROCCBOX first. Would have saved me time and money. This is very versitile oven, way more uses than just a pizza oven. This oven is so simple and easy to use, makes you look like a master pizza maker from the get go.

Make the best pizza at home.
It’s amazing little pizza oven. Yes it’s portable but how heavy it is you can question it for some people who don’t lift. There is a learning curve to this oven and making pizza overall. But since I’ve started making pizza I never order. I would rather make my own, ferment my dough, get good quality ingredients, etc. I’ve only cooked with the propane option but this gives a good char to your pizza that your regular oven can’t achieve. Cleaning it is a bit of a hassle, especially if you have a pizza that collapses in there.

A pro the second time around!
Family and pizza night was a great hit! We bought our favorite toppings and I made the pizza dough which really turned out delicious. To our amazement our pizzas actually tasted like pizza from a restaurant. One thing I learned after all of my toppings ended up on the bed of the pizza cooker is the peel needed to be floured really good so that the pizza could side off the peel really easily; other than that, I highly recommend this pizza oven.

Love, love, LOVE this!
Bought this for my hubby for Father’s Day and gave it to him early. We decided to try it out tonight and made PERFECT pizza from pie one. There were no instructions, really, but we figured it out. Would not take it camping, like in the Roccbox hype video, but I suppose it could be done. The only issue I had was when baking a calzone. I got a little too forceful with the turning peel and flung my dessert onto the flames. It caught fire immediately. hahaha Still tasted good, though, so there’s that. The best YouTube video for making the perfect Roccbox pizza that I found was put out by Got2EatPizza called, “My Top Pizza Oven Tips.” If you make the pizzas like the guy says, they turn out wonderful. Didn’t need the small turning peel.

Considered all of the alternatives but I’m very happy I went with the Gozney
The oven is very well built! I was seriously considering alternatives because I didn’t love the size of the Gozney as it’s only big enough for 12″ pizzas however I’m very happy I went with this oven instead of the alternative larger ones. It is great that it came with the pizza peel as it’s perfectly sized for the oven and very well built. The Gozney has excellent heat retention as its flames shoot directly over the entire pizza giving you a nice top heat and browning of the toppings whereas other ovens are hotter on the sides and less so on the top of the pizza. It’s also very easy to transport and comes in a reusable box that we store it in and use when we move it around the house and/or outdoors before setting up our cooking. I only wish they had a 16″ version of this very same design as I would have easily paid more more for it but even at this size this is a great buy and I’m 5/5 stars happy.

Works great after the learning curve
I purchased this oven about a month ago and love it. I screwed up the first few pizza’s from ignorance but after watching a few YouTube videos on making the dough and using the oven they come out perfectly. I made 12 pizza’s back to back over the new year’s weekend and it performed great. It was a little pricey but I’m very happy with my purchase.

Family Loves Pizza.
So happy I bought this, the RoccBox is build like a tank, well insulated and easy to use. Like the Green color. Now we have family pizza night every Friday. As a bonus, I save money, much cheaper to make my own pizza the to go out to a pizzeria.
